2000 and One

Vision and versatility - the DNA that defines 2000 and One as an artist. Whether he's performing for 40,000 housecrowds, 2500 techno lovers or 400 party people at an intimate, underground tech-house club, he'll always cook the dancefloor.

2000 And One (aka Dylan Hermelijn) has been on the forefront of electronic dance music since the late eighties. His pioneering vision across more than two decades of music genres, now ranks him as one the most versatile, in-demand international artists, commanding weekly performances on the house, techno and techhouse global club and festival circuits.

Not only recognised as a magnet for the clubbing crowds, 2000 and One is also credited for championing the sounds of Amsterdam’s new school DJ and Producer generation and propelling the scene’s visibility into the international club headlights.

Based in Amsterdam, his involvement with six of the city’s finest techno, techhouse and house labels - 100% Pure, Remote Area, Area Remote, Intacto (with Shinedoe), Bitten and Bangbang! (with Sandy Hüner) has offered a framework for the new generation of producers to hit the world stage. Collectively these labels have offered a staggering amount of underground dance anthems and it’s therefore no surprise that he’s recently been hailed as the inspiration for Amsterdam’s new sound generation, as well as the glue that binds it.

It all began in the late eighties, when heavily infected by the acid house bug he produced his first record at 17 under his moniker 2000 And One. Not only was he one of the first successful Dutch technoproducers, he was also one of the first in this genre to perform live. In 1993 he launched 100% Pure Records with schoolmate and music partner in crime Sandy Hüner. Now heading up the label solo, it is internationally recognised as Amsterdam’s longest running techhouse imprint and its foundations have paved the way for the success of his other labels.

In 2005, his epic stomper Adonai Elohim (2005) caught the eye of technofreaks around the globe. Then Tropical Melons (2006) became a massive festival hit, as well as Microfunk's contemporary techno classic Pecan (2006), then Rare Tap (2009) scorched the international club systems. The list goes on, with his album Heritage in 2009 perhaps being the crownpiece of his impressive discography. A powerful homage to the timelessness of house music and picked up by many as one of the best house/techno albums of that year.

2010 was monumental, kicking off with a #1 on Beatport on the first day and ending the year while performing back-to-back with Joris Voorn at Sensation’s NYE party – a partnership that sees them performing at every Sensation for the next two years. In the months in between he released his world class mix on the 2nd Voltt CD, presented his Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1, completed tours both in South America and Asia and cooked the dancefloors around the world including Space/Ibiza for his summer residency, Eden/Ibiza for Pete Tong's Wonderland party and Tokyo's Wire Festival.

And with 2011 welcoming him to party hotspots across the globe including USA & Japan and Tap Deux (March 2011) already flagged as a best seller a week after its release, it just goes to show that whatever the year, it’s been 2000 and One’s vision and versatility as an artist that has enabled him to continuously innovate and reinvent himself and push frontiers in the world of electronic dance music.

Mauro Picotto

is an Italian DJ who began his career in 1984, at the age of eighteen, at a club in Piedmont called Top Sound. Following his studies he devoted himself full time to his passion as a DJ and in 1988 he became a finalist in the Italian DMC. In 1989 he won the Walky Cup Competition, broadcast on TV, which enshrined him as the best Italian DJ.

The same year he devoted much of his time to the production of his first album as R.A.F., and he soon became one of the leading producers at Media Records in Italy, of which he would eventually become a partner.

In the meantime he began to produce himself, releasing massive tracks including Bakerloo Symphony, Iguana and Komodo to name a few, though his fame is mainly due to Lizard, a track that turned into a musical style, receiving awards and accolades from all territories, pushing Mauro to the Olympus of the Top 10 most popular DJs in the world.

In 2001 he began his metamorphosis, leaving Media records and creating Bakerloo and the label Alchemy. His productions would vary in genres from dance to trance, the most sophisticated techno to an evolution of all that is homemade music.

In 2003 Mauro Picotto created Meganite - Electronic Music Lifestyle - a successful club party linked to the best DJs of the moment. For the Meganite events he has had on his side top artists known today as Chris Liebing, Marco Carola and Adam Beyer, all playing alongside Mauro as Meganite resident DJs. Since the very beginning, the selection of artists chosen for Meganite has been of the highest quality for an evening mainly based on innovative electronic music, a cocktail of pure energy and emotion.

Mauro Picotto has released over 600 productions and numerous remixes, and to date he has sold over six million copies worldwide. He has played in best clubs with the most famous Djs, as well as having participated in all the major events, from Love Parade to Creamfields, MTV Festival, Winter Olympics in Turin, Ultra, Time Warp and Awakenings.

Mauro's much anticipated album "2010" was released in 2010 showing his impeccable and unique style for dance music lovers and to celebrate the new adventure with his residency at Space Ibiza for Come Together. In 2011 Mauro organized his first 2 days Alchemy Music Festival in the Country , in his hometown Cavour and released another great new Album called "TwentyEleven" confirming his musical taste and creativity, always at the top.

Mauro is resident in Italy, and in addition to collecting air miles, he lives between Spain and England where he has family. You can follow him daily on Twitter (MauroPicottoDJ) or Facebook/mauropicottodj.

Robert Dietz

Robert Dietz cut his clubbing teeth on the Frankfurt scene dominated by the likes of Sven Vath, Dorian Paic, Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, but the flourishing artist leaps all musical boundaries. His only guiding principle can be summed up in words of Chuck Roberts: House is a feeling!

Beatportal hailed Dietz as one of 2009’s Artists To Watch saying he: came out of nowhere to land on some of the scene’s hottest labels. Though it is true that Dietz has made a major impression on A-list imprints including Cadenza, Cecille, Running Back and Deep Vibes the fact is Robert has been honing his musical prowess for years, ever since he was a teenager dividing his time between Frankfurt’s skate parks and the equally frenetic dancefloors of clubs like Robert Johnson and Monza. His early attraction to hip hop culture transformed into a passion for house music and it wasn’t long before Dietz was experimenting with a borrowed Roland 303, was well as devoting his time to mastering a pair of Technics 1210s.

This grounding in the basic tools of classic house forms the basis for Robert’s hypnotic, sexy, nuanced take on electronic music. He always took the ethos of minimal with a grain of salt, preferring to have richness and emotional texture in his tunes rather than simply follow a trend. It is this mindset, coupled with his superb sense of what it takes to make a club explode, that provides the impetus for Dietz’s productions – and his packed DJ schedule.

Dietz is a firm favourite in clubs around the globe. These days he spins at his old haunt, Cocoon Frankfurt, but it is just one stop on an incessent world tour that sees him flit through Pacha, Ibiza; Dance Valley, Amsterdam; Revolver, Australia; Arma17, Moscow; London’s ultra-hip underground Shoreditch warehouse parties and a second south america Tour in November this year. The appeal of his music is abundantly clear to anyone lucky enough to have caught one of his beachside sets at Ushuaia, Ibiza, where he ingnited the crowd with supple, intoxicating, modern house that captured the celebratory spirit of old-fashioned club music fused with sleek, 21st century.

His production skills focus on the same meeting place between technical proficiency and pure excitement. Over the past few years Dietz has built up an impressive CV including work with the likes of Loco Dice, Karotte, Ilario Alicante, Davide Squillace and fellow Frankfurt rising star Reboot. His tracks have found their way into compilations for Cocoon, Cecille, Circo Loco and Timewarp, among others – evidence of the high regard other DJs have for Robert’s work.

Dietz found that his ethos also fits perfectly with the aesthetic of Cadenza Records and he is a valued member of the merry dancefloor pranksters the Vagabundos. As well as joining them at Ushuaia and Pacha (Ibiza) with five gigs this season, Dietz has just released his first record on Cadenza: Home Run. A supremely confident label debut, it boasts two combustible tracks – the anthemic, ambitious techno stormer Soup Opera and, on the flip side, the insanely catchy, tribal-tinged Aurel in Wonderland. Both records are set to keep bodies moving all summer – and longer.
